The Hound Standard is working to provide a clear and usable shopping experience for people using different devices, browsers, keyboards, and assistive technologies.
Our approach
Access is part of the build.
The current prelaunch build has been checked for page structure, keyboard focus, a skip-to-content link, labeled form controls, text alternatives, responsive layouts, color contrast, reduced-motion support, and customer-facing language.
Testing continues. These checks do not establish formal conformance and do not replace testing with screen readers, physical devices, a real product catalog, or the completed checkout system.
Understand the page
Headings, landmarks, labels, link names, and image alternatives are used to make content and controls easier to identify.
Use different screen sizes
The storefront is designed to reflow across phone, tablet, and desktop widths without requiring horizontal scrolling in the tested layouts.
Reduce unnecessary motion
The theme respects reduced-motion preferences and keeps movement brief and functional.
